Head of Quality and Compliance
“A fantastic organisation to work for. Every day is different. We’ve grown and developed together.”
2016 will be my 30th year working in IT within the Mundipharma network. When I started, all those years ago, there were only two IT professionals, looking after one application with around 20 users. Now we have around 75 IT professionals based in Cambridge, with another 120 or so located in various countries around the world. Our support portfolio has grown from that single application to around 900, spread across 35 different countries with more than 6500 users.
People often ask me how I could work in one organisation for 30 years, and my answer is always the same. The organisation has been fantastic to work for, and with all that growth we have seen over the years, the only constant has been that tomorrow will be different from today. So it’s never dull!!!
I have lost track of the number of roles I have had in that time, so it’s been a consistently steep learning curve, which has allowed me to grow alongside the growth of the organisation.
I have been very privileged to travel a lot in my various roles, too many to mention, but two stand out….the first being given a private tour of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and the other spending five whole weeks working in Bermuda one year.
My current role finds me managing the Quality and Compliance function. Our remit is to ensure that we provide IT services to our customers that ensure that they can remain compliant in terms of the rules and regulations around the manufacturing, marketing and selling of pharmaceutical products globally. Product quality and patient safety being uppermost in our mind in everything we do.
When I’m not in the office, you might see my wife and I riding rather large motorcycles through various countries. Maybe one day I might even make it all the way around the world, but for now Cambridge is a great place to be located.
