2nd Line Analyst
“Freedom, respect, responsibility... working here ticks all the boxes for me and has lived up to my expectations.”
I joined Mundipharma IT Services in May 2012 and my current role is Second Line Analyst in the Service Desk team. I provide IT support for customers across the globe, primarily resolving incidents and service requests but also undertaking tasks such as IT Inductions for new starters, training customers, managing support visits to other independent associated acompanies, process improvements and mentoring members of the team. I have also had the opportunity to participate in a number of projects since joining Mundipharma IT Services.
Most recently I have become the point of contact for our Executive customers and provide IT support at European Leadership Team meetings. I am also managing an apprentice who recently joined the Service Desk team.
I began my career as an apprentice support analyst, working for a small IT Service provider, studying at college and learning at work to obtain an NVQ in Information Technology. I have spent the majority of my career working for the IT Helpdesk team at Rothamsted Research, one of the oldest and most prestigious agricultural research institutions in the world. I have also worked in a financial systems support role at Cambridgeshire County Council.
Following a career break which allowed me to travel throughout South America I returned to the UK feeling refreshed and looking to kick start my career in IT. My goal was to join a forward thinking company that could provide me with a new and exciting challenge, with an opportunity for personal development and progression. Mundipharma IT Services certainly ticked all the boxes for me and has lived up to my expectations.
What I like most about Mundipharma IT Services as a company is the diverse range of technologies we support, our customer focus and the sense that I am working for a forward thinking company that never sits still.
I enjoy the frequent interactions with colleagues and customers from across the globe and the sense of achievement I get from being able to help people and have a positive impact on their day. I appreciate the freedom, respect and development opportunities given to me by my manager and I’m proud to be part of a high performing Service Desk team which attains goals and consistently achieves results. I like the opportunity to travel and the sense of independence and responsibility that comes from this.
I have a passion for travel and a lifelong ambition to see as much of this planet as I possibly can. I am well on my way to achieving this, having travelled in Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America.
My proudest accomplishment to date is completing the famous Inca Trail trek in Peru, trekking for 4 days across the Andean mountains and arriving just in time to watch the sunrise over the lost city of Machu Picchu.
In addition to watching football and spending time with my family, I am hoping to obtain a private pilot licence in the near future- and my biggest dream is to travel in outer space. With space tourism expected to “take off” in the next decade this may not be as far-fetched as it sounds!
