"A great bunch of people in an international environment, having lots of fun together while making a real difference"
I started working for Mundipharma IT Services in 2011 as a Financial Accountant and since then was promoted to Finance Manager which is my current role. In this role I am responsible for leading the finance team, our monthly and annual reporting, budgets and all other areas related to Finance.
I studied Economics before training as an accountant with Ernst & Young, where I worked for 4 years. Following my time at E&Y I spent 3 years at a company called Spicers, a stationary wholesaler, working in the European Head Office Finance function. I was looking for a new challenge and when I came across the role at Mundipharma IT Services I knew this was what I wanted. It enabled me to work in a varied and international environment, and the last 5 years have gone by very quickly, and I still very much enjoy working here.
I like working for Mundipharma IT Services as we have a great bunch of people in different locations, there is an international outlook, there are lots of challenges and opportunities, and we manage to have fun together regularly, such as at the recent company event at Warwick Castle.
What I enjoy most about my job is working in the Finance team (we have a fantastic team!), working with people from different countries – for instance I enjoy speaking German with my Swiss and German colleagues as well as travelling there – and the varied tasks and projects that come my way. I also feel that I can make a real difference, and I have helped to shape what the Finance team and the outputs of the team look like today.
My young family (3 children aged 5, 3 and a few months!) takes up most of my spare time. Other than that, I enjoy playing football (at Mundipharma IT Services we play after work every Wednesday), and I am involved in a local church. One thing that I have not yet done but always wanted to do is go on a cruise – though given the young age of my children I may have to wait a few more years until this becomes reality…
