John Harris

John joined the Mundipharma IT Services team in October 2017 to take on the role of Chief Technology Officer.

John has most recently been working as the Global CTO of Aimia Inc, a global loyalty company that provides services such as Nectar and the Air Canada frequent flyer programme. Before joining Aimia, John worked at Glaxo SmithKline for over 16 years in a number of positions of increasing responsibility in both infrastructure and applications services teams. When he left GSK in 2012, John was the Chief Architect and Vice President of global IT strategy, innovation and learning.

John has a background with both pharmaceutical and digital experience and has shaped and led significant projects in his career with over 10 years’ experience in emerging markets.

John is married with two young children who keep him busy as well as being a keen marathon runner. To date he has completed 15 marathons and raised over £30k for charity.

Jeremy joined Mundipharma IT Services originally as the Director of Solutions Delivery in October 2014, having worked previously in IT Director roles for various Companies in the Drinks Industry. Jeremy started his career as an Accountant however having been given the opportunity whilst with Bulmers to stretch his remit into more Operational roles, he moved in to a pure IT role in 2005, with Scottish & Newcastle. In the realignment of the Mundipharma IT Services business in 2015 to its current structure, Jeremy took the role of Director of Solutions Delivery and Demand Management and has the key accountability of liaising with our customers across Europe to ensure our resources and efforts are meeting their needs.

Jeremy came to Mundipharma IT Services in order to have the opportunity to work with a group of people within an Organisation that is dedicated to making a difference to people’s lives around the world. Jeremy’s passions outside of work are his family, socialising and cycling, with a dream to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats whilst tasting as many local beers and ciders on the way as possible.

Jeremy is based in the Mundipharma office in Cambridge, UK.

Sam Coverdale
Director of CAS & PMO

Sam joined the organisation in August 2017 to take on the combined role of Director of Central Application Services (CAS) and Director of Project & Portfolio Management (PMO).

Sam has spent the last 9 years at Smith and Nephew in Memphis, USA, holding several positions of leadership, including PMO Director, IT Business Partner and most recently Sr. Director of Application Development. Prior to Smith and Nephew, Sam worked for International Paper for 6 years in various roles across project management and business analysis, application development and integration; having gained this experience in supply chain and commercial environments.

Sam is married with two sons and has stayed busy coaching and leading them in their sports and activities. Outside of work, Sam enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking and camping as well as staying active through running and cycling. His bucket list includes hiking the 2000 mile Appalachian trail with his two sons.

Alex has been the Director of HR for Mundipharma IT Services since February 2015, having spent the previous 8 years in one of our independent associated companies in the UK including having been their Director of People and Development between 2011 and 2014. She is passionate about supporting individuals to achieve their full potential, as well as the strategic role of HR in ensuring the success of an organisation. She has held roles in organisations as diverse as the Police Service, Sainsbury’s and the BBC.

Alex’s overriding motivation for working at Mundipharma IT Services comes from the friendly and committed people that she works with every day, as well as the opportunity to develop personally in a role that requires someone to get involved in all sorts of diverse projects, due to the size of the Organisation.

Alex’s interests outside of work include skiing and scuba diving: her current dream is to paraglide in the Alps, in order to conquer all the elemental forms of H2O!

Alex is based in the Mundipharma office in Cambridge, UK.

Akbar joined Mundipharma IT services in November as Director of IT Finance globally.

Akbar has worked for much of his career at British American Tabacco (BAT) and has spent the last two years at GSK, bringing a wealth of experience supporting IT to help the business realise the value from their IT investments.

Akbar is married with two children and outside of work has a number of passions including travelling, tropical fish and martial arts. He has worked in the UK for the last 11 years, having moved here from the former Soviet Union with BAT.

Will joined Mundipharma IT Services in July 2017 as Director, R&D IT for Europe and LAM. Bar a brief foray into IT banking whilst in New Zealand, Will has worked at the boundary between IT and Pharma R&D for 18 years. He is keenly focused on delivering value for the business and is convinced that IT solutions can deliver transformations in the way that new medicines are discovered, developed and managed. He is also a keen student of why this transformation has not yet come about, in order to understand how to more successfully deliver change from IT investments in the future. Given a chance, he bore you with talk of Drama Triangles, Hosin Kanri X-matricies and fast-cycle process improvement.

Colin Bergstrand joins the organisation in January 2018 with full responsibility over all teams and activities of TechOps IT world-wide.

Colin brings with him a wealth of experience in shaping and delivering IT strategies which enable the business and deliver exceptional value to the Organisation. He has been working at Astra Zeneca (AZ) since 2002, most recently as their Global IT Lead for Supply Chain and Distribution and previously in a number of roles with accountability for IT programme delivery. Prior to working at AZ, Colin worked at SAP, supporting clients including Cadbury Schweppes and GlaxoWellcome.

When not at work, Colin enjoys racquet sports and tells us he runs at least 2 mountain marathons a year!

Philippe Mazas is the  Global CIO at Mundipharma IT Services Limited, based in the UK and accountable for IT Services provided to our global network of IACs.  Previously, Philippe was the Group CIO at Smith & Nephew plc, a FTSE 100 global Medical Device company with representation in more than 100 countries. 

Before joining Smith & Nephew, Philippe was Group CIO at Beazley Group plc, a global, specialist insurer.  Prior to joining Beazley, Philippe was Information Officer in charge of Sales & Marketing Systems and Services for General Motors Europe, based in the UK and previously he was Regional CIO for Renault in South America, based in Curitiba, Brazil.  Philippe is married with four children and speaks four languages.

Educated in France, he has an Engineering Degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris and a PhD in Technology from Universite Paris VI.

Philippe’s family includes four children, he enjoys keeping fit and exploring!

Lynda joined Mundipharma IT Services in March 2017.  Prior to her role here she has worked as Office Manager for Sentec & Tektronix so is accustomed to technology & IT based environments.   She is passionate about Customer Service and the international reach that the Global organisation provides.

In her spare time Lynda is generally scouring the globe for vacation spots on more and more remote islands in the Indian & Pacific Oceans or organising road-trips to the National Parks of the West Coast of the USA.
